He explained that under Section 59 of the Police Reform Act 2002, if you do not comply with anti-Social Driving (ASA), a warning could result in your vehicle being confiscated. Stephen Smith also highlighted that the power that the sign mentions is to order a person to stop driving and to cease their car, not to be prosecuted for having their stereo on too loud or revving their engine. He also reminded drivers that hand brake turns could be considered careless or dangerous driving and warrant a prosecution. This comes as footage shows selfish drivers ignoring road closure signs in Southall, West London, and Brent Cross, north London, where motorists were filmed doing doughnuts outside a Tesco supermarket.

SCOTT FREE I’m a traffic lawyer – why you CAN’T be prosecuted for ‘anti-social driving’ at supermarkets no matter what signs say
A MOTOR law expert has revealed why you CAN'T be prosecuted for "anti-social driving" in supermarket car parks - no matter what the signs say.
The lawyer pointed out signage which read: "Anti-social drivers will be prosecuted.
"Under Section 59 of the Police Reform Act 2002 you will be issued with a warning for anti-social driving if you either:
"If you do not comply this could result in your vehicle being confiscated."
In a video posted on TikTok, Stephen explained how this sign was inaccurate.
"You certainly can't be prosecuted for having your stereo on too loud or for revving your engine," he said on his account, @stephenoldhamsolicitors
"The power that the notice mentions is under Section 59 of the Police Reform Act 2002, that's a power for a police officer to order a person to stop driving and in fact to cease their car.
"That does not amount to a prosecution and it's not something Tesco can do, only that police can.
"The only time you could be prosecuted in these circumstances is if you fail to follow the orders of a police constable, then you could be fined up to £1,000."
He also reminded drivers that hand brake turns could be considered careless or dangerous driving and warrant a prosecution.
This comes as shocking footage showed selfish drivers mounting the pavement to dodge a road closure.
Cars in Southall, West London, were caught ignoring the signage telling them they couldn't pass as pedestrians jumped out of the way.
It is important to note, ignoring road closure signs can lead to a fixed penalty and even prosecution for careless driving.
Meanwhile, one stupid motorist was caught on camera parking her car across a disabled parking bay outside a Tesco supermarket.
The black Honda Civic was just left at a 90 degree angle just metres from the front entrance of the store.
Plus, petrolhead yobs were filmed doing doughnuts outside one Tesco in Brent Cross, north London.
Hundreds of people gathered to watch the vehicles speed through the supermarket's car park.
